For a while there, he seemed destined to become one of those reliably good character actors, you know the type, the ones you

instantly recognize and think, oh okay we're in good hands here. But in the past

few years Bernthal has officially made the leap to leading man.

First, with the Punisher series, playing Frank Castle, and now, in 2022,

with We Own This City, created by David Simon and George Pelicanos.

As you may remember, they produced the wire in the early aunts.

Now, 20 years later, they've returned to Baltimore, this time to focus on the city's

notoriously corrupt gun task force. The ringleader of this lawless police squad is a man named Sergeant Wayne Jenkins played by Bernthal.
