Today I'm joined by John Wilsey, Professor of Church History and Chair of the Department

of Church History and Historical Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is the author of many books, including God's Cold Warrior, the Life and Faith of John Foster Dulles.

We had a conversation with John a number of years ago on that topic.

But today, we're going to be discussing his new book, Religious Freedom, a Conservative Primer, from Erdmans that came out this year.

It's great, Dan, to be with you once again.

I remember with such fondness, our conversation about JFD and looking forward to this

conversation very much. Excellent. Yeah. No. So this book, like books go in one of three directions.

Books either either they deliver what they promise, they fail to deliver what they promise, or they

deliver what they promise, and then some. And in your book, I count as a deliver on the promise and then some, because... Oh, you're very kind. Thank you, sir. Yeah, because it talks about, you know, the straightforward topic of a sort of conservative primer on religious freedom, but it also tells us a lot about the

nature of America through the lens of Alexis de Tocqueville. And it also talks to us a lot about
