Patreon has just started a battle that they can't win, or it's better put that they have inflamed the culture war and made themselves a battleground.

And what's going to end up happening is after the battle ends, Patreon will be a desolate wasteland.

Now, it's entirely possible that this blows over for sure.

But what we're seeing is that activists angry with the banning of Sargon of Akad have started to prove

that other podcasts in the top of Patreon have broken the rules to much more extreme degrees.

And there are even some left-wing activists who are piling on now.

It would seem that there are people on the left who are upset that Patreon doesn't ban the people on the right,

and now there are people on the right upset that Patreon isn't upholding its rules for everyone.

A lot of people have said that this is the end of Patreon that they've, they're going to lose all their customers.

I don't know if that's true, but I can say that it's possible a cascade effect happens.

Because as one person leaves and their patrons get mad,

their patrons stop spending money on other accounts,

those people then create alternatives and it causes people to move over.

The way I see it, you can ban people from Twitter and other people will be annoyed.

But when you strip someone's income, you cause an actual panic,

because this actually affects people's lives.

And we might see something similar to a bank run on Patreon.

Look, I don't condone what Sargon said.

I understand what he was trying to do.

I still think it was a bad move.

I think it was wrong.

But what happens is, because Patreon isn't upholding any written rules and the rules don't make sense,
