But today I wanted to take a moment to honor the life of Chadwick Bozeman, Black Panther, to now know what he endured all the while filming iconic movies like

Get on up in Black Panther Marshall and the Avengers is a testament not only to his

strength but also his professionalism and sheer talent.

As a black man and as a South Carolinian, Chadwick made us proud and he was the best of us.

I want to also take a moment to honor the life of iconic Georgetown basketball head coach John Thompson.

You can Google all the accomplishments but for me the things

that stand out about John Thompson are the things you don't always hear first when people

talk about John Thompson. Things like a

graduation rate of 97% and taking chances on young men like Alan Iverson

who deserves second chances. Alan Iverson's acceptance speech into the basketball hall of fame spoke to John Thompson, the man.

Coach Thompson was saving my life. For giving me the opportunity. I was recruited by every school in a country for football and basketball.

And I football and

all that was taken away.

the incident happened in high school and all that was taken away.

No other teams, no other schools, or recruit me anymore.

My mom, when did Joy sound, and beg him, you give me a chance. And he did. To a man,

and he did.
