kimal live oh good five six years ago now they have a book it is out as we speak. There's no I in office. We will get to the book.

You will explain what that book is all about. But first, how do we know each other?

Jake is a writer over at Jimmy Kimmel Live. Paul, your position officially was what when I met you?

I was a writer's assistant on the show. So basically, I would kind of do all the administrative work at the show,

making sure riders were staying on task and had paper.

And now Jake has worked his way from a position of rider over there to writer in five years.

Nice work. It's in quite a journey. Jake is a highly educated

and anti-social person, so this should make for a very good podcast. Let's do it. Jake and Paul,

now first off, what inspired you to write this book? Well, basically Jake and I, when we worked at Kimmel together, one day we kind of started doing this stuff in the office where we'd see each other and go, uh-oh, here comes trouble.

Right.

And, oh, look at, you know, oh, look at this guy.

Yeah.

And we started doing these cliched, ridiculous office things people say to each other.

Sure.

So we kind of ran out of them after a few months, and then we started coming up with our own.

And as we kept coming up with our own as a rider's assistant with nothing else to do, I came up with a giant list of them.

And after we had enough, the rider's strike happened, we said, what the heck are we going to do with ourselves?

We said, you know what, this could actually make a book.
