Summary
Adam then brings Dana Gould onto the show, who recalls in his last interview that Adam ranted about Sigmund and the Sea Monsters while Dana was writing the feature film version. The guys also talk about pitching projects around Hollywood, and exchange audition horror stories.
The top news story today is the 6.3 earthquake in New Zealand. They also hear more details about Lara Logan's ordeal, and discuss the problem of anti-Semitism in the middle east. In other dramatic news, Justin Bieber recently got a haircut and Dr. Pepper is releasing a new soda. Alison also reads off some fun facts about our past presidents in honor of the holiday.
After a quick break, the group returns with Dana Gould as he impersonates PBS staple Huell Howser. The guys pick apart Huell's visit to the dry cleaners and a pita factory, and also watch the original clip that got Adam hooked on the show in the first place. Afterward, Adam retells the story of Dave Dameshek's ode to Teemu Selanne.

| 1:25.1 | bald bryan every damn night every night good. Good day, Allison Rosen. Hello, Adam Carolla. And Philip, what's his nose from Tricasters with us? Thank you for having me. I don't know your last name, Philip, because it's not on a piece of paper. What is it? It's Nelson. Philip Nelson. Well, how the fuck am I supposed to remember that? |
| 2:20.9 | That's exotic. Yeah, I bet you just made that up to get late. Philip is the guy who brought us the Tricaster from New Tech. And if this sounds sort of like a plug, it is. Because this is a very nice piece of equipment. Philip got us this one. I think they're getting us one so we can go out on the road and do these shows live and stream them and bring them to you. And we want to have them on the show and do a little brown-nosed-in. Thanks, Phil. Where are you from? Where's the company out of it? New tech's based in San Antonio, Texas. Mm-hmm. A hotbed of tech. So what would, let's say one of a young Spaz was sitting at home and he said, |
| 2:23.2 | you know what, I want one of these tricasters? |
| 2:24.2 | How's it work? |
| 2:27.8 | Well, you know, it's basically a live television truck in a box. |
| 2:35.2 | You know, we've taken the big giant trailer you would see out behind a stadium and shrunk it down into a little 10-pound box. |
| 2:40.1 | Back in the day that have, even like if you saw the news vans with the big, big antennas, |
| 2:45.7 | big dish on there and all that stuff, it's all that in the size of a, you know, suitcase, basically. It's smaller than a suitcase. |
| 2:46.8 | You needed about a three-foot little table to set it up and do a show. |
| 2:49.5 | And that's really the idea is, you know, it allows you do live TV from anywhere. Because when we design this, you know, our goal wasn't to say Super Bowl, don't use a truck. It was a show that would have never rolled in a truck can now be made. Right. You know, because that's some of the greatest, coolest stuff that people want to see, but some executives saying |
| 3:07.5 | it's not good enough. And, you know, so now really it's in the hands of the people with ideas |
