to HBR, and the author of several books most recently, no one understands you and what to do

So over the years, Heidi, you've given our readers a lot of advice on goal-setting,

and I thought that today what we try to do is bring some of that together,

or bring a lot of it together to really give

people some useful goals to finally make this year the year they change their habits and actually

achieve what they want to.

So I thought we'd just start with sort of identifying the right

thing to work on. How do you know which new habits will be most effective and

sort of prioritize the right goals for you? Well I mean I think you kind of hit the nail on the head by saying that it is about prioritizing.

I'm one of the major mistakes people make at this time of year is really trying to

tackle a whole bunch of things at once, you know,

going from somebody who's not in shape at all and eats terribly and is unorganized and bad at time

management and never remembers to call their mother and try to do all five of those things at the same time and think,
