It's now very late

But we're still gonna to pray the Rosary. So let's begin the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. It's called to mind all those we've

promised to pray for. The Gospel from the Daily Mass today is the

parable of a tax collector and the Pharisee. The Pharisees stood in the temple and said this prayer to himself.

I thank you God that I am not greedy, unjust, adulterous like the rest of mankind, and particularly I'm not like this tax collector here.

I fast twice a week, I pay ties on all I get.

The tax collector, however, stood some distance away, not daring even to raise

his eyes to heaven. But he beat his breast and said,

God be merciful to me a sinner.

This man I tell you, went home justified.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the man who humbles himself will be exalted.

What our Lord says is true, obviously.

When the tax collector said, God be merciful to me a sinner, that is part of

humility.

Humility is recognizing two things. I have limitations.

Apart from God, I am nothing.

And the only thing I really own is my sin. That's only half of it. The other half of humility is the fact that we have divine potential and with God we can share in his life in fact we can become a son or daughter of God.
