Former Georgia Beauty Queen and beloved high school teacher Tara Grinstead

vanished in 2005, leaving a community stunned and without answers

for over a decade until Ryan Duke, a former student at the school that she

taught at, was arrested and charged with her

murder. Just weeks later Ryan's friend O'Dukes was also arrested in connection to

her disappearance.

Both men claimed that they helped dispose of her body,

but blamed each other for the murder.

When Ryan Duke stood trial, it would be up to a jury to figure out who was telling the truth.

I'm traveling today to Osilla, a small town in rural Georgia known for its

Sweet Potato Festival, Southern Hospital, and the mysterious disappearance of a

teacher and former beauty queen named Tara Grinstead. of a Tara was a teacher at the local school and she was a former beauty queen, a very popular person.

On October 22, 2005, Tara Grinstead began her day doing one of the things she loved most.

It was late October, Saturday.

It's a big time around Irwin County because the Sweet Potato Festival, the big event of the year down

there, is just coming up. She spent that morning prepping other high school girls for

the beauty pageants that were coming up. A lot of them were students of hers and she helped them get ready and before they all went to the

pageant itself and she was a judge there also helping people get ready and that ended around 6 o'clock.
