Andrew Weiss is the Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Prior to joining Carnegie, Andrew was Director of the RAND Corporation Center for Russia

and Eurasia.

He also served in the administrations of President Clinton and Bush.

He joins us today to talk about his new book, Accidentals Are, The Life and Lies of Vladimir

Putin.

Putin grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, and he fell into the wrong crowd.

He spent a lot of time getting into trouble as a teenager, and what changed his life

was he became obsessed with glorifying the KGB, which was very prevalent in the time when

he was a teenager in the 60s.
