Summary

Paul Wheelock and Matt Addison return with the Academy Show, kicking off with a focus on Neco Williams, who started the week training with Jurgen Klopp's first team before joining up with Barry Lewtas's in-form U18/U19s for their UEFA Youth League win in Genk. Curtis Jones continued his superb form in the 2-0 victory and the midfielder is one of the podcast's talking points, as is Sepp van den Berg. We also hear from Lewtas after his U18s won 3-0 at home to Newcastle United, which followed an incredible 6-1 mini-derby success at Everton. Paul and Matt also focus on Neil Critchley's entertaining U23s side, who have made it back-to-back victories thanks in no small part to Rhian Brewster. Matt also explains why Yasser Larouci has been playing up front, after impressing in pre-season at left-back for Klopp's senior side, before selecting his One to Watch in a new feature for the podcast.
