So in inshallah ta'ala tonight, dear brothers and sisters, we are covering not just one of the most interesting

characters of the sea love but but really a fascinating family where every person within this family

has an incredibly unique story and

and I want to start off with a conversation since we just finished with Sayyidina Umar al-Aliya'Allah

ta'ala anhu that is narrated between Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu an abdAllah ibn Suhail ibn Abh

wa liya'Allah ta'ala anhumah and this conversation comes in some of the contemporary books to show you

a story of how these people were trying to come to terms with their Islam.

So the story is that Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu goes out one night

and he finds abdAllah. That's not the story. He goes out and he finds abdAllah and he says to

abdAllah, ya abdAllah, oh abdAllah, what is it that brought you out to this place in the darkness

of the night? So they're in the valleys of Mecca and he sees abdAllah ibn Suhail and he says,

what is it that brought you out to this place in the middle of the night? So abdAllah says

Mahruju ka'ans, what is it that brought you out? Oh Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu now everyone

is kind of suspicious of each other in the early days of Islam. Who's hiding their Islam?

Who is open about it? You know they're trying to sort of figure each other out, scope each other out.

So Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu was not a Muslim yet at this point.

So this is pre-conversion Umar, who if you remember in the story of Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu,

there were some mixed signals about where he stood. His intentions, his motivations were very

different from the motivations of Abu Jahad and Abu Safiyan and others at the time.

So Umar al-Aliya'Allah ta'ala anhu says,

He said you know I was feeling some constriction in my chest. I was having a hard time.

...
