The Michael Vary Show is on the air. I read headlines all day like probably many of you but we subscribe to so many

different quote-unquote news and opinion sources that when you see the headlines

they start just looking more and more ridiculous because they have to be

ridiculous to get your attention and I was thinking about later in the show today if we have time,

just reading some of the absurd headlines.

And the problem with the absurd headlines is that many times what's absurd about it is not

that the headline writer has stretched the truth, but that it's true.

I just first thing that pops up.

China is our number one threat.

They are challenging us all over the world,

militarily and economically. And by the way, China is quietly in a recession. Now, the term recession is a pure and technical

term of economics. We can argue over whether they are in a

technically in a recession. Many people would argue they are. You also don't

get good economic data. But there are certain things that we are able to discern from the Chinese economy, and things are not good.

Things are far from good today. And there are a number of reasons for that. There was, they were fueling

growth like many companies do that was outpacing their ability to sustain it. And part of that is growth is very exciting.
