This is dime store figuring out. I'm not going to get to his motivations as far as his psyche. But one thing you have to learn about Tucker is

there is no gray area. There is only absolute. It's the best. It's the worst.

Is it the best or is it the worst? No. Because there's something better. There's something worse. Whatever it is. But at any given moment, there is no dimmer switch. It's a toggle switch. It's not unique to Tucker. It's sort of part of the world where people live in cable news land.
