It's a great day to talk football that is Eagles football, of course, and I'm your host, Ray Shell, prevent getting you hip very quick.

Two, what's happening?

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have hired a familiar face to join their coaching staff.

Former defensive in Matt Leo, who recently announced that he was retiring from the league, is now going to be the Eagles defensive and football operations assistant.

He's only 31 years old and he was actually placed on the reserve slash retired list back on July 25th.

He actually joined the Eagles back in 2000 as a part of the NFL's international player pathway program and he spent three seasons on the practice squad.

He actually never made the 53 man roster and he never played in a regular season game.

But despite the fact that he didn't have much on the field success, it's still really cool that he was able to get this opportunity from it in return to Philly as a part of the coaching staff.

He will be a familiar face for the current players on the roster or once they cut down their 53 man roster.

It's just nice that they'll already have that chemistry and rapport with him, even though he's in a new role.

We wish him the best of luck in his new role.

Now let's get into some of the roster moves that the Eagles have made ahead of their first preseason game.

The Eagles added some depth at the linebacker position.

I don't think this is a surprise to anybody because this was definitely a hole on the roster.

But they signed former Steelers linebacker Miles Jack and also former Titans and Texans linebacker Zach Cunningham.

Both of these linebackers were signed to a one year deal, which is worth up to $2.5 million.

It still has yet to be clear how much of that money is guaranteed though.
