Hi, friends. Today's episode is brought to you in partnership with our friends at IJM,

until they were stored and thriving in freedom. And Eddie Calfel's works there.

0:17.4

Yes, I do. And I love it. And I love that we get to bring these stories and talk about

0:21.6

them. Today, we wanted to share with you a bit about Vashanti, who was a mom who was

0:25.7

tricked into slavery in a brick kiln. It's just terribly difficult labor. And alongside

I just can't imagine that's unreal. Oh, it's like bricks for hours. I mean, 18 hours a day.

1:14.2

her voice. And she did you see the part about did I tell you part about the COVID-19 response

1:20.4

that she's oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's yeah. She made sure that her village was

1:25.0

safe by calling each person in the community on her phone. No. She's educating people about

1:30.9

the severity of the effect infection and giving precautionary instructions for washing hands

1:35.2

and staying safe. And so this generations of people who have survived to become the advocates

1:40.2

and that is just deeply rewarding. Yeah. Vashanti is a total hero to me. And so are the

1:46.0

supporters who sent IJM to rescue her. You guys, if you want to partner with IJM and send
