Hi, friends. Welcome to Annie and Eddie. Keep talking. We're really excited to be partnering with International Justice Mission for the show. It's the largest anti slavery organization in the world. And they worked to rescue people out of slavery and sex trafficking and walk with survivors until they were stored and thriving and freedom.

It's been fun to partner with IJM for all of our T.S.F. quarantine episodes as it is really like a privilege for us and for them to share these stories of hope. And as we're getting closer to Mother's Day.

Here is a great one.

Shantraman is a mom who exemplifies all the things that a mom can be kind, brave, compassionate, hardworking.

The problem is she wasn't free. She spent day after day in a silkworm factory in Southeast Asia, twisting silk thread to make sari's.

She also would have to pull worms out of boiling water and it would leave her hands raw, spinning their silk fiber nonstop up to 16 hours a day.

And when she tried to escape the owner locked her in a tiny dark cell for six months with her four year old son.

And IJM discovered that many of the workers in the silkworm factory were trapped and partnered with the local police to rescue every single one of them, including Shantraman.

And the very next day the government declared her and her boys free. Today she's a strong spokeswoman in the fight to end slavery. And the mom she always dreamed of being to her son.

One who can give them freedom as well.

Shantraman shows us clearly some of the best attributes of what it means to be a mom. She's brave. She's sacrificial and she's unrelenting.
