Turn with me in the word to 2 Corinthians the 9th chapter.

2 Corinthians 9 and verse 6.

He said, this I say, he which so sparingly shall reap also sparingly.

He which soes bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Now, if you look at this eighth chapter and this ninth chapter, he's talking about offerings.

He was talking about them taking an offering to some people.

And verse seven, every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

The Lord is not going to make us do anything. In fact, he said, I don't want you giving grudgingly.

I don't want you giving because you think you have to.

You know, it has been taught and preached in some places.

You know, if you don't give, if you don't tithe, if you don't do this, God's going to get you.

And you can give offerings out of fear.

Like paying protection money.

Like somebody coming by and saying, you know, hey, we want to sell you some insurance.

You go, hey, I don't need any insurance.

And they pull out a bat and go, yeah, you do.

You actually do.

And you need it from us.

And so people, you know, they don't want to pay that protection money, but they think,

man, if I don't, my shop's going to get tore up, this is going to happen, this is going

to happen.

And people think that way about God.
