0:40.3	Our scripture for today comes from John 15 verses 7 through 8 where Jesus says,
0:47.2	If you abide in me, in my words abide in you. Ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.
0:56.9	By this my Father is glorified that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
1:07.7	Jesus makes an almost unbelievable promise in our verse for today. He promises that if we abide
1:15.0	in him and allow his words to abide in us, then we can ask anything we desire of God and it will
1:23.2	happen. Clearly this is a vital passage for us to understand today. I believe that the Lord has
1:32.0	fresh revelation and store for us. It will take him out as word and allow him to transform our
1:38.5	understanding of what it is to petition or Heavenly Father. So let's open our hearts and minds
1:46.7	and allow the Holy Spirit to come and do a work in us today as we place our trust in Jesus' word.
1:55.7	I've spent a large part of my Christian life praying without understanding how to pray.
2:02.4	I used to view prayer as a time for me to ask God for what I thought will be good
2:07.7	and then wait to see if my circumstances lined up with my prayer. Then only through my circumstances
2:14.7	what I know of God's answer to my prayer was yes or no. And then I read John 15, 7 through 8,
2:22.9	where Jesus clearly teaches a very different model of prayer than I had been experiencing.
2:28.5	Jesus' model for prayer is abiding in his presence, abiding in his words, and then asking God
2:38.5	for our hearts desires. God desires that we would be so in tune with his heartbeat and so saturated
2:46.8	with his word that our desires would be transformed into his desires. His plan is to fill us with the
2:55.1	knowledge of his perfect will for our lives in the secret place so that we can pray and live
