I have not done one of these intros in a while, so I might as well say welcome back or welcome to the single track podcast.

I'm your host, Finn Melanson, and this is the first of our three 2025 Western States 100 recap episodes that we'll be publishing today.

This conversation is with Western States 100 champion Abby Hall.

What a journey for Abby to get to this moment. Over the past few years, she has proven herself to be one of the very best in the

sport, but it has not come without setbacks. For example, she has two years removed from a traumatic

leg injury that shrouded her future in the sport with some uncertainty. So that comeback story is awesome, but in addition to that, she has supported recent winners

of this race such as Ruth Croft, Tom Evans, and Katie Shied to Victory.

Tom even said in his post-race interview back in 23 and he was thanking her that not only

that, but Abby would win this race someday, which was an awesome

forecast for what was to come. Anyways, we break it all down in this one. One thing to note

before we get started, we did experience some audio issues and a couple of false starts. Basically,

I made the rookie mistake of trying to live stream this conversation on a really low Wi-Fi upload speed

and paid the price. I've fixed the audio as best as possible here, but you might still notice
