I've used this metaphor a few times past couple of days and I kind of enjoy it.

So bear with me.

It would be nice to milk the Packers of Given Air and Rogers Permission to talk to other

teams.

Before we pivot to the Rogers talk to the Jets cap, so it's odd that that step got skipped.

He's in the plane, the parachute's on, the helmet is strapped into place, the goggles

are in position, he's standing at the opening, last year he did not jump.

This year, will he jump?

While we knew he was going to jump, the question was whether or not the Jets and the Packers

were actually going to shove him out of the plane.

We knew he wanted to go.

It's been nearly six weeks since he declared his intention to play for the Jets.

And just as we thought the plane would be landed, pun definitely intended on Friday night

during round two of the draft, boom, something happened yesterday and I've had some time

to think about it.

I'll share my thoughts throughout the course of the next two hours as Chris Sims and yours

truly break down the trade that if you weren't paying attention to what's been happening

the NFL, you were very surprised yesterday if you were paying attention, the only reason

you were surprised is because it got done before the clock began to strike midnight during

draft week.
