All right, guys, we've got a special guests on the podcast today. His name is Aaron Graham. He is a pastor, author, and speaker. He's the founder and lead pastor of the district church in Washington, D.C., and the author of a new book called Unshakeable Faith, How to Stand Firm, and a Culture of Lies. And so this was a very interesting book that I got to read in preparation for this show. But he's an interesting guy because he grew up the son of missionaries. He was actually held hostage in Kuwait back in the

90s. And so he had some very interesting experiences and still went into full-time ministry,

represented a church in Boston and then launched a church there, planted a church in Washington,

D.C. But we talk about in his book about how, again, you saw the subtitle, how to stand firm in a culture of lies. And the culture just loves to lie to us, right? Loves to lie to us about what the Bible says, whether or not it's still relevant today. We talk about that. We talk about this dissonance throughout the book and also throughout this interview today, where there seems like there's a little bit of tension because of some of the phraseology that's used. Perhaps, you know, I even told him at one point, I felt like he was talking out of both sides of his mouth, but you can even see throughout the conversation, he was happy to clarify. I was happy to dig a little bit deeper and it ended up being just absolutely fantastic and I do it would be from the beginning. But he gives us so many warnings about the wolves and sheep's clothing that Jesus

warned about, as we see in Matthew 7, and how progressive Christianity should be defined, and also

how it's having a deleterious impact on a lot of people. We also get into screw tape letters and

how there is a spiritual component to this as well, to a lot of stuff. We also get into, you know, screw tape letters and how there is a spiritual

component to this as well to a lot of stuff that we're seeing in modernity, how people feel like

church is optional, how people feel like, yeah, faith is just your thing, just make sure it's done in

private, how we should be editing the Bible so it really kind of more goes along with the times.

But later on the interview, we talk about some different things because we started talking about justice. And when you start hearing things that, you know, have very direct euphemism, so when you start hearing about economic justice, social justice, racial justice, equity, those types of things, what does all that mean and how's that work in this conversation? And then towards the end, we about, okay, let's talk about revival. Are we in a revival right now? How can we even know if we're in a revival? And then how can we as individuals, as people listening to this show, be a bearer of revival? So very interesting book, very interesting conversation, guys.
