I'm Aaron Chadbourne. Thanks for being with us today.

At 3 o'clock, the congressional leaders are going to be meeting with Donald Trump.

Now, what happened is that there had been a meeting previously scheduled with Schumer and

Hakeem Jeffries and the president. And Republicans were like,

why are you meeting with them? Like they're just there so they can say that they tried to you. And I think

that originally Johnson and Thune weren't invited in. And there are some people thinking that they

were worried that Trump would cut a deal without him. And by the way, he might. Donald Trump will

cut a deal if he can cut a deal.

And so the Republicans want to be included. They wanted to be there as well. Not a bad idea if you're going to need their votes. I suppose you should have them in the room.

But they convince Trump to cancel the meeting. They're not going to do anything. They're not serious. The only thing that Democrats are going to do is they're going to ask and they're going to ask and they're going to ask for things. And so they scuttled the meeting and Hakeem Jeffries was so mad. Hakeem Jeffries, by the way, I heard an interview with him this weekend where he said that he's never actually met with Donald Trump. He met him in inauguration, but they never had a meeting together. Do you think he's asked for one? You think he's been trying to meet with Donald Trump. Do you think he's asked for one? You think he's been trying to meet with Donald Trump because he's been trying to find ways to work with the president? I doubt it. They don't work the way

that Donald Trump works. They work the way that, you know, congressional people work where they

put out press releases about their feelings about how they love government,

about how, you know, funding for health care for illegals is the most important thing.

And right now, I want you to listen to Chuck Schumer, the saber rattling that he's doing.

Actually, let's start with the Kim Jeffries. Let's start with the Keem Jeffries. This is him complaining that, you know, Republicans, who by the way, the House Representatives passed the funding bill, the Senate took it up and the Democrats are blocking it. This is how Akeem Jeffries talks about the fact that they won't, they won't come back to D.C. and work with him. Cutten. Four days away from a government shutdown and Republicans are on vacation.
