Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon and Alatee present the 1995 International Convention,

AA everywhere, anywhere, anywhere.

And I do some traveling, too, and traveling has to be done to different countries,

and I've met many people throughout my travels in AA, in South America, Europe,

in many places, but my recent, my most recent trip was to Eastern Europe,

to Hungary, Slovakia, and a Czech Republic. And since the iron curtain has been lifted,

AA is starting to take a real tollhold in most of these countries.

For many years, if someone was caught with AA literature in these countries, they could be imprisoned or worse.

And so it kind of stunted the growth of AA.

Though many of the Finns and many of the other Eastern European countries were

trying to carry the message in, they would have to sneak literature in. And, you know, as things

go, a few people did get sober. But now it's starting to take off in some of the countries

really fast, especially Poland, and we have a World

Service meeting delegate here from Poland who's going to share with us a little bit about

that.

I also just experienced a tremendous growth in AA in Hungary.
