Yesterday I featured Dr. Paul O author of one of the more popular stories in the back of the big book, Dr Alcoholic Addict (re-titled Acceptance Was the Answer in the 4th edition) when I grabbed that file I spotted this one and thought it sounded interesting so here you go. Dr. Paul O (AA) and his wife Max (Al-anon) lead this workshop on the topic of Communication in Sober Relationships, it is followed by some Q&A from the folks attending. 0:58.2	My name is Max and I'm a happy member now and I want to tell you I'm no expert at this thing
1:06.8	and I don't do it all the time but there have been a few things that we've learned on
1:12.8	the program that work at least for us.
1:16.5	In the beginning I used to try to get Paul to talk and it was always a fiasco.
1:21.4	He didn't want to talk and he didn't like to hear what I had to say.
1:26.5	Before we came to the program I had given up.
1:29.6	So when he started going to AA and I was going with him we would ride from Anaheim down
1:37.3	to Laguna Beach which took about 35, 40 minutes and for the first time in my life I was able
1:43.2	to be in the car with Paul and not talk.
1:46.9	Because before I used to ask him questions which made him mad and I never could understand
1:53.7	why but anyway and then we would go to speaker meetings and on the way home we talk about
