I can't watch what I shed. Welcome to Axelgrind. Welcome to Axe to Grind. My name's Bob. You are listening to The Hardcore Podcast. As we like to do, this is kind of a new

idea we're putting out into the ether. Hopefully we'll make it a regular thing. That's the

intention. But you're probably hearing this. Well, I don't know when you're hearing this,

but we're launching this on a Saturday, Saturday morning, I don't know when you're hearing this, but we're launching this on a

Saturday, Saturday morning. I don't know about anybody who is older or younger than me, but I remember

all those weird morning, like Saturday, Sunday, weekend morning TV shows that there was just more of a like long form feel to

it, right? So that's what you're getting here. Welcome to Axe Grind the story of today's episode

is going to be on and with the band Rise and Fall.

For my money, the best hardcore band from Belgium, a band who was able to combine hardcore punk and metal in a way that was unique, brought a lot of energy and carried a lot

of personality.

I think that shows through

in today's episode. This is a two-parter. This is the first of two parts. And you kind of get

the story from the band themselves of their journey. I think it's a story that's pretty

familiar to a lot of people, whether you

were in a band or just kind of paid attention to bands. Not this specific, their story, which I hope

you enjoy, but just the general flow. I was really appreciative of how honest and open these

guys were. So I want to send a big thank you out to

Cedric, Bjorn, and Vince, along with all the other players who played a part in

Rise and Fall, last, you know, certainly not the least Murphy, who played drums, especially

in this era, JP, and Wims, who also played a part.
