She was just named to the HP Inc. board in the first board shuffle since Hewlett Packard split up into two companies. about getting her first board seat. And what is the difference between a job interview and a board

interview? It's not a job interview. So you're not going into these meetings trying to convince

people that you're a good operator. The reason that you're at the meeting is because you're a good

operator. And they've already decided that is true.

Stacey also shares advice for other seeking board seats.

It's a topic we've been covering on the pod since we hosted the Stanford board

directors college earlier this year.

So what advice did or didn't work out?

A lot of the recruiters actually tell you, you know, you don't want to talk about running

the company when you're interviewing for a board. You don't want to talk about strategy because they know more about

the strategy than you do. So be careful about answering that question. Okay, so let's hear from
