Summary

In place of a regular episode, this Christmas Day I’m sharing a short, heartfelt message - think of it as the Yorkshire version of the King’s Speech.

This brief Christmas Day special touches on the importance of connection at this time of year, acknowledges how difficult the season can be for many, and reflects on the victims and families behind the cases we’ve explored throughout 2025.

Thank you for listening this year, for supporting the show, and for being part of this growing community across Yorkshire, the UK, and over a hundred countries worldwide.

I wish you a very Happy Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year when it comes.

Cheerio, Stu x

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. On this Christmas day, I wanted to take a moment, instead of releasing a full episode, to share a short message

with you all. Now, I know I'm not King Charles, but think of this as the Yorkshire version

0:28.1

of the King's speech, a brewing hand, Yorkshire tea, of course, feet up, and speaking from the

heart. Christmas can be a wonderful time a year for many people.

It's a season built around family, togetherness, and pausing from the busyness of life.

Even if you don't celebrate the religious side of Christmas, most of us recognize this time

a year as one for connection, checking in with the people we care

0:55.6

about, making memories, and remembering what really matters. But I also know, all too well,

1:02.8

that this time a year can be really tough. Some people listening to day might be spending

1:08.3

Christmas alone, some might be missing someone desperately, and some might be carrying the weight of things that no one else can see. If that's you, please don't sit with it in silence. Reach out to someone, a friend, a family member, a colleague, a neighbor, or even a helpline if that feels easier.

There is always someone willing to listen, and you're never as alone as you think you are.

As many of you know, the cases I cover on British murders are heavy, tragic and heartbreaking,

and Christmas can amplify that.

1:46.9

So today, I want to take a moment to reflect on all the lives lost in the stories we've explored this year. Let's hold in our

thoughts the families and friends who'll be spending this festive season with an empty

chair at the table, people whose loved ones were taken away from

them far too soon. True crime is at its core about people, real people, and they should never

be forgotten. Before I go, I want to say a genuine thank you. Thank you for listening this year, for supporting

the podcast, for sending your messages, your feedback, your episode suggestions, and for being

part of this little community we've built together. It honestly means more than you'll ever know.
