almost 9 million people have been displaced.

The conflict between the government forces and a paramilitary group called

the Rapid Support Forces is as intense as ever and is creating what the UN says could become

the world's largest hunger crisis.

At an international conference in Paris aimed at boosting aid for Sudan, the French foreign minister

Stephen Céjournay said the Sudanese people had been victims of indifference and a wall of silence around the conflict.
