Several months ago, the main drainage line

from our house backed up.

It's an unpleasant experience for any homeowner.

One of the worst, really.

This is not one of those goods that Joe just talked about

that we're gonna trace back up into God.

As I thought about giving a message

on the pleasure of God in creation and human culture,

I figured that the 30 yards or so of pipe

that removes my family's waste from our home,

at least when it's working properly,

is as clear an intersection between the two as Eddie.

The root of our problem, as it turns out,

was a root, a tree root, likely many of them.

Creation was making war on that vital little stretch

of culture buried under our front yard.

So we called someone with extensive experience

with such unpleasant trees.

We'll call him Larry.

Larry is everything you might expect

from a man who spent the last 30 plus years

dealing with every homeowner's nightmares.
