Summary

Spain are the Women’s World Cup champions for the first time ever. That should be the story. The moment should have been euphoric, a historic triumph for the best players in the world. But it all changed when Spanish Soccer Federation President Luis Rubiales grabbed and kissed forward Jenni Hermoso without her consent. 0:42.7	And it was one of the two greatest achievements in the history of Spanish football,

0:50.0	And this was the women winning the World Cup here in 2023.
0:53.4	And in many ways, I think this was an even more impressive achievement,
0:56.5	because the women's team had come so far in such a short time
1:00.6	from being really out of the picture in terms of the best teams in the world,
1:04.1	just a few years ago, and now being absolutely the world's best.
1:07.6	So in many ways, I think you could frame this as being the greatest achievement
1:11.6	in the history of Spanish football.
