| 1:30.1 | At the end of chapter 12, remember the widow's offering that Jesus has observed |
| 1:36.0 | and to which he has drawn his disciples' attention. |
| 1:39.9 | So in verse 43, he says to them, truly, truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more |
| 1:46.9 | than all those who are contributing to the offering box. |
| 1:50.7 | Why? |
| 1:51.4 | Because he was measuring by sacrifice, not by amount. |
| 1:57.4 | He was measuring by proportion. |
| 2:01.1 | So this lady had actually done something quite dramatic. |
| 2:05.5 | And Jesus' disciples were very slow to grasp the values of the kingdom. |
