something I stumbled over that gave me a burst of optimism, something you can share with

Hi, guys, for this week's For The Good of the Order, I wanted to give a shout-out, and

honestly, I'm always toying with the idea of starting a new sub-series just for these

kinds of shout-outs, because I think exposing ourselves regularly to these kinds of people

doing this kind of work can be essential counter-programming to, if it bleeds, it leads type

media.

But this one particularly caught my eye because I met this woman at a speech I gave in

Iowa.

I've been there a few times now, it's kind of great.

And this woman came up, she was so lovely, and she told this story that she had, her

name's Brittany, and she told the story of raising this little girl Gracie, and that her

cousin asked her at a wedding, have you formally adopted her?

And she said, no, I haven't, because I talked to a lawyer, and the fees were just

too much, I'm out in too high a climb.

And this lovely cousin, Cassie, said, if the only thing standing in your way is money,

then let me help.

And on July 6, 2021, Brittany became Gracie's mom, officially, legally.
