I think she was more beautiful inside.

There was a small town and everybody knew each of everybody. He couldn't do

something bad because everybody would find out about it. She believed people. And that's what

Josefina and Nicolas Garza sat at their home in McAllen, Texas, wondering where the 26-year-old

daughter Irene was.

It was almost midnight on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter in 1960.

She said she'd gone to confession at their church, but she should have been home hours ago.

They were beginning to worry.

The two of them decided to drive by the church and see if Irene was still there.

Irene and her family lived on the same street as Sacred Heart Catholic Church,

only a four-minute drive away.

So Josefina and Nicholas jumped into their car and headed south to the church.

Nobody saw her leave.

Her parents drive by about midnight, they see her car there.

Oh, she must be at the vigil mass.

And so she, they go home and she doesn't come home.
