Today we continue our unit on Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea novels.

Today we're discussing the rest of a Wizard of Earthsea. I am Cameron and with me here

are my souls trapped within spells of binding, Michael and Austin. I'm just a regular stone.

You could come up and look at them. Come, just come over here and touch me real quick.

Stones are cool. It's cool to touch stones. It's cool to touch me. It's okay. She's telling me to do it, but I don't think I should. Oh, I'm just a regular laid back stone. Just here at the very bottom of this tower in the deepest room. Come on, yeah. I'm looking at you and and it's blinking all kinds of, like, hill colors. It's cool the other side of the pillow over here. Come hang out with me. I'm looking at, you know, I'm looking at the list of spells over here. You know, I wave my name wand over here. I see binding, soul theft, murder. Those are from other, those are a different stone. That's not all me. I don't know why this is the voice I've chosen for it. I don't either. I don't either, which made me unwilling to kind of commit to the middle of it anymore because you're afraid. Well, I wanted to, I kind of want to lean into being like, oh, it's like someone's made that up about you, you know what I mean? But with that voice, it sounded not cool. It's like the stone is being interviewed on the street an episode of Law and Order. People are always jumping conclusions about old Blackstone. All right. I did kind of feel like I was like kind of being trapped into profiling the stone a little bit.

And I didn't.

I didn't want to, but I kind of felt like I had to for the bit, you know? It's a cool stone. It's one of the coolest things in this book. Hey, every chapter, this is a cool thing we can say about Earthsea, I think, at this point. And this is going to be a thing to track going forward for the next, like, seven books or however many there are, right?

Every chapter of this book has at least one cool thing.

Yeah.

I think that's right.

Is that right?

I would look at every chapter, but I think that's right.

I definitely feel like every chapter of this book has one thing that would be the entire book in another series.

Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean.
