0:18.0	Who do you trust? Who do you listen to? How do you determine what's right and what's wrong? What's wise?
0:28.0	I read a Gallup study that interviewed people in their 20s mostly and it said that people at least in their
0:35.1	20s tend to just trust their gut. Most people think that we come pre-equipped with pretty
0:40.7	decent moral compasses. Left to my own devices I usually make wise choices.
0:47.0	Sometimes in our world saying I feel this way is really all you need to say to make something right or make something wrong.
0:55.0	But the Bible couldn't disagree more.
0:57.0	According to the Bible, every single one of us, we are all mixed bags of right and wrong, wise and unwise.
1:06.0	And that means that we all come equipped with faulty moral compasses.
1:10.0	It also means that wisdom isn't something that we are born with. Wisdom is something that we have to cultivate.
1:17.0	It's something we have to seek out, something that we have to listen to.
1:21.0	This is one of the major themes in the book of Proverbs. We read in Proverbs
1:26.5	4 versus 7 and 8. The beginning of wisdom is this. Get wisdom! I love that. How do you get wisdom? Well first get it. It's not something that you have.
1:37.0	Though it cost you all you have, get understanding.
1:41.0	Cherish her and she will exalt you. Embrace her and she will exalt you, embrace her, and she will honor you.
1:46.0	First Samuel 25 is a living illustration of this exact proverb.
1:52.0	In it we meet a woman whose name is Abigail and she's cultivated
1:56.4	wisdom in her life. She's cultivated understanding in her life. We also meet two men who are caught in the snare of foolishness.
2:05.0	One is David, and the other is a man named Naval.
2:09.0	And his name in Hebrew it literally means fool.
2:12.0	Naval is Abigail's husband.
