| 0:21.6 | And many of us are familiar with Spice who are our research and information service, |
| 0:26.6 | and we all know that they provide us with accurate and reliable information that helps MSPs to work effectively. |
| 0:32.6 | So today's seminar is a collaboration between the two and it is a first in the series looking |
| 0:38.3 | at economic transformation in Scotland. |
| 0:41.6 | So the subject for today's discussion is the idea of Scotland as a well-being economy. |
| 0:46.9 | Some of the challenges we are facing do at times feel overwhelming, the climate and ecological |
| 0:52.4 | emergency, inequality in an ageing population, and in this context, |
| 0:57.0 | new ideas of how our economy works and should work are beginning to take hold. So this seminar |
| 1:02.5 | with the wellbeing economy alliance will look at the idea of a well-being economy economy. The Scottish |
| 1:07.1 | Government's 10-year economic strategy has the overriding vision to deliver a well-being economy for Scotland. |
| 1:13.2 | But this morning gives us a chance to really consider what does that mean, what would it look like and what difference would it make. |
| 1:19.5 | So to discuss these questions and more, I'm delighted to welcome Dr Lucas Buncev and who's joined with Francis Rayner from the Well-Being Economic Alliance. |
| 1:28.3 | And we're also joined by political economist Marian Brett and Simon Farrell, who is a former co-owner and managing director of one of the UK's most successful brand agencies. |
