Summary

Now that school routines are underway, we’re going deep into the details of lunch packing – with the help of our team! In Episode 385 Meagan and Sarah call on the experience, perspective and real-life lunch packing advice of five moms from around the country, whose lunch-eating kids range in age from two to sixteen. We touch on lunch packing pain points, tried-and-true ideas for each food group, strategies for snacking, and some of our must-have lunch packing accessories. We hope that a peek inside the bento boxes of other families will both validate that you’re already doing a great job (yes, even if you send the same thing every day!) AND infuse your lunch packing with some easy new ideas. Take a listen!

of life, but we both know that motherhood's a lot easier when real moms share

0:12.7

tips and encouragement. And remind you that it's really all gonna be okay. We're

not experts. We're parents who've been there. We're not perfect. We're real.

leaning today on the expertise and perspective and real life stories from

0:41.8

five of our team members from across the country. You'll get to meet them in

0:45.7

just a second. But Megan, I feel like we're kind of virtually here with them.

0:49.8

And I'm so glad because we're talking about lunch packing today, but you and I

0:54.6

are not packing as many lunches as we used to be. So thank goodness for the

0:58.1

team, right? Yeah. I mean, I was hardcore head down in heavy lunch packing

1:04.8

mode for a long time. And I honestly would probably have continued into middle

1:10.0

school for Clara, but then pandemic happened. And then lunch in Michigan was

1:14.6

free for everybody. I want to say it was definitely all of last year and maybe

1:19.4

the year whatever amount of school the kids actually went to in person the

1:22.8

year before I was starting to mix the years up. But well, no, because 2020

1:27.6

would have been like, there's just no school. So it was 2021. It was free all

1:30.5

year. And this year when the kids went back, I have to say putting $100 in that

1:35.4

lunch account on the first day kind of hurt. And so I'm not going to say never
