But in a Christian view, weddings are so much more than that.

They're a public act inseparably joining two lives, creating a new family, a God-ordained covenant with a purpose that goes back

to creation and with symbolism that reaches into new creation, whether those getting married

ever realize that or not.

Those who go don't just attend, they participate as witnesses.

Look, if Christians don't understand how marriage

ceremonies are fundamentally different than a party,

we've got a failure of catachesus.

For today's confusions,

Christians have to know what marriage is, not just what it isn't.
