When biblical writers encountered the holiness of God, all they could do was fall before him.

Nancy DeMas Walgamo says this response is a model for us.

You can't come into the presence of God holding on to the filthy rags of your own righteousness or your own sinfulness.

You can't cling to your sinful habits and say, oh God, I love you, I'm going to worship you this morning. You can't do that your sinful habits and say, oh, God, I love you. I'm going to worship you this morning.

You can't do that.

He's a holy God.

And oh, that there would be more falling down on our faces before him.

G. Campbell Morgan was a great Bible teacher during the 1900s, and one of my favorite quotes of his,

he said, the supreme need in every hour of difficulty and distress is for a fresh vision of God. The supreme need,

the greatest thing we need in every hour of difficulty and distress. Anybody in here today have any

difficulty or distress in your life at the moment? If you don't, you will have. The supreme need, what you need,

Ani, with your little girl's situation, what you need, Amy and Ginger with what the things that

God has been doing in your family. The supreme need in every hour of difficulty and distress is for a

fresh vision of God. Seeing him, he went on to say, all else takes on

proper perspective and proportion. Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face.
