Summary

While Caroline is honeymooning in the Dolomites, Lily Shimbashi, founder of Sportsish, joins us to break down the most important news in sports and pop culture. Madison Square Garden is on our minds this week – and it’s not just because the Knicks lost at home. Rumor has it that Taylor Swift’s wedding will take place at the iconic New York City arena on July 3. Are we buying it? No. What’s are people *actually* buying when it comes to the pop star? The literal chair she sat on during the Cav’s Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. We hate it here too. In this episode of Well Played, we also cover: Serena Williams’ return to the grass – and why “mom brain” got the best of her  Breaking down the World Cup stages, and which teams to watch  Kim Kardashian re-entering the WAG world, thanks to Lewis Hamilton  The Hockey Canada 5, and why Lily thinks it’s been a hard Stanley Cup for female fans  Send Its: Serena v. mom brain: https://www.reddit.com/r/tennis/comments/1u05nx8/serena_forgetting_where_she_has_to_serve_and_it/?solution=6fade7a9855ac5106fade7a9855ac510&js_challenge=1&token=7afd7253fec22262ff1c52b1703fe9ecba37f2c27935c160fc00b397029b5e0f&jsc_orig_r=  Does Trey Jemison know he’s getting married?: https://www.instagram.com/p/DNEl36Nukmi/?img_index=1  Kim K re-enters her WAGdom: https://people.com/kim-kardashian-wears-low-back-dress-lewis-hamilton-f1-monaco-11993179 Plus: check out The Athletic's FIFA World Cup group stage breakdown: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/interactive/world-cup-2026-group-stage-draw-live/ Follow Sportsish on Instagram: @sportsish  Subscribe to Sportsish on Substack: https://sportsish.substack.com/ Follow Well Played on Instagram: @wellplayedbytheskimm  Follow Blake on Instagram: @blaakkkke Learn more about your ad choices. Hello and welcome back to another episode of Well Played. I'm Blake Morgan and I'm joined by a special co-host today, Miss Lily Shimbashi. Hello. And who are you, miss? Who am I? Oh, I don't know. I am, it depends on the day. Who are you today? Today I am a tired mom of two, but I'm also the founder of sportsish, which is a platform for female sports fans.

And it's been one of our faves.

Like, since we started this show, we had Lily on, I think it was February 2025 right before the Super Bowl or like end of January. Yes. So it's been a minute, but you've probably heard her voice before. But I feel like we need a little reintroduction. Absolutely. And she is sitting here in our chair today because currently,

I think Caroline, I checked her location like 30 minutes ago, is in the middle of the Dolomites in Italy on her honeymoon. Living her best life. Living her best life on the honeymoon that her husband planned for her rightfully so because she planned her entire wedding. So there you go. Shout out to Scott. I hope y'all are having an amazing time in the Dolomites wherever you are. I wanted to start out by, because you have been traveling so much in the past, I would say like half year, I mean always, but especially in the past like five months, I feel like since the beginning of the year. And so in the honor of being sportsish, I want you to tell us what have been the top three sportsish moments since the beginning of the year. Since the beginning of the year. Okay. Well, we'll start at Super Bowl, which I know you were there that week too. We saw each other there. I know. I love the Super Bowl. I love the NFL. I'm such a fan and I'm really a fan of George Kittle as a person, right? And his wife, Claire, who isn't? They really are an iconic couple.

2:06.8

George seems like such a good guy. Yeah, he was. You interviewed him and so did we, right?

2:12.9

Yeah. He was so fun. He was so fun. And we talked about Taylor Swift. I don't even know how we got on the topic. And so we sang Love Story together by Taylor Swift. Yes, yes, we did. And it was an iconic moment. It's one of those moments that you just like kind of roll with it in the moment. Then you look back at the video, you're like, oh, I'm singing love story by Taylor Swift with George. Right. And it's like it sounds like he kind of made that happen. I have this feeling, yes. He started singing and I was like, well, here we go.

2:34.5

Well, he was in such good spirits that day, despite having his injury and, like, having to roll around. I was really impressed by him. He is eternally happy. And I want that. And I need that. What is he taking? George. Tell us. What's the recipe? What's the recipe? Okay. So that was number one.

2:47.9

Yeah.

2:48.3

Number two.

2:48.9

What was the most sportsish moment?

2:51.0

One of my favorites.

2:52.7

Let's see.

2:54.2

I'd say I went, so I'm a creator under ESPN. And I get to do a lot with them, which is really so fun and so exciting. Where did I go recently with them? I went to the final four.

3:07.9

Tell me.
