Some kids grow up and want to be fire fighters, astronauts, and basketball players.

But me, I've always been a bit different. Maybe it's because I've always enjoyed

smelling my parents' Pope Paris while growing up, or because I always got to snuff the candles

after their dinner parties. But sensing candles have always held a special place in my heart.

This week, I have a very, very special announcement. Sunday Scaries finally has its own

scented candle. Well, actually two scented candles, and yes, a wick trimmer as well.

For the last two months, I've been working with the subscription-based candle company Vella Box.

Vella Box sends monthly candle boxes to their subscribers with the intention of setting the

mood in your apartment or home without having to break the bank. The process of designing these

candles was absolutely so much fun. When we first started talking to Vella Box, it kind of felt

like a natural fit for us. They're small business, just like us. They understood the brand,

and they were ready to hit the ground running. They sent me a box of a ton of different candles for

me to test all hand-poured by them. Some masculine, some feminine, some flowery, some leathery,

some conservative, and some that were kind of out there. I really love two of them, which led us

to thinking that we'd do a box with two candles with two defined purposes. From there, it just kind of

came down to the packaging. I did do all the packaging for the candles myself, which was a very

fun process in and of itself. Right into the descriptions, if you see the descriptions on the side of the

candle, it was just kind of a very free process where they gave me a lot of creative control.

The first candle is the Sunday Scaries candle. This has sent notes of amber, oak moss, and driftwood,

three cents that I'd kind of pointed out to them that I liked ahead of time. While I didn't know

those, what those cents were when I first smelled the candle, it makes sense that those are the ones
