0:34.4	Late 1800s, early 1900s,
0:38.3	there was this Italian engineer,
0:40.3	slash economist, slash sociologist,
0:42.8	named Vilfredo Pareto.
0:45.4	And in 1906,
0:47.2	Pareto came up with this concept of Pareto efficiency.
0:51.4	And the idea was that resources
0:54.3	are allocated in an economically efficient way,
0:57.9	but that doesn't mean they are fair or equal.
