This is Jonah Goldberg, host of the Remnant Hot Cance brought to you by the Dispatch and

I'm a little trepidacious today because we have one of my favorite people, favorite colleagues

at the American Enterprise Institute, noted Russia scholar, author of many books, including

a biography of Boris Yeltsin, Leon Aaron.

And he's returning to the Remnant today, but that might sound strange to some close students

of Remnant lore because he's never showed up in anyone's podcast feed.

That is because we did an entire episode about a, you know, a year and a half ago, somewhere

in the meaty part of the pandemic and recorded the whole conversation, future of Russia,

future of Putin, democracy, all this stuff.

And then the audio just vanished into the ether.

And unfortunately, I am convinced that the FSB or some other Russian bot or hacker group

has done something to Leon's computer that makes it difficult for us to use our normal

software to record this podcast so we had to record a Zoom call.

So the audio may be a little less than normal if Caleb cannot do the voodoo that he do so
