Hello everyone. No, no fancy opening today, no bells and whistles. Today is just about me talking

about my friend Rick Snyder, who of course died earlier this week. And I just wanted to be about that.

So folks, give me way more than two minutes. So I just wanted to go over what Rick meant to me. I meant to a lot of

people. I think I'm speaking for a lot of people when I talk about this because my experience

was not unique. It's just that it was my experience, but I know I represent many when I share my

words and what he meant. And, you know, nobody's universally beloved. I've learned that, but he was very, very well liked and respected. And certainly, you know,'s universally beloved i've learned that but he was very very well liked

and respected and certainly by me absolutely beloved and so by a lot of people as well so um i just want

to go over a few things with him why just so people know who rick was and maybe even share some

memories of him as a reporter

that maybe you didn't know because some of the stuff he did, his best stuff was a while ago

and as a reporter, it was very, very good. So I just want people to know that. Anyways, I first met

Rick in 1993. We were both covering a preseason game at RFK. No, I was not covering the team at

that point. I was there for the old, for the journal newspapers. If you remember that, it was a

surrogman daily around D.C. Excuse me, I was there to write a story on Eric Metcalf, who was an

O'Connell high school graduate, so he was a local guy playing for the Browns, and Rick was there

just freelance assignment, or he was freel local guy playing for the Browns, and Rick was there just freelance assignment,
