And there's a big hole in the hearts of many White Sox fans right now with the passing of our dear friend,

our dear friend Bill Melton, Belton, Bill Melton.

He passed away overnight in Arizona.

He had been dealing with some health issues recently.

I spoke of them a few weeks ago and was monitoring his situation, but unfortunately, he did

pass away last night soon after midnight.

And now, here I am talking about my great, great friend, Bill Milton.

I'm still in shock over this.

I'm sure many of you are as well because you didn't see it coming.

Very few people knew that he was sick, certainly this sick.

So I thought I'd share with you some memories of Bill, some stories about him,

and I found a couple of conversations that we both had here on the podcast over the years that really sum up Bill.

Bill the player, Bill the person that we all grew to love.

So Bill played for the White Sox from 1968 until 1975.

This was before my time.

But for people who are now in their 60s and older, he was their hero.

He was their champion.
