to the year ahead, I want to start making less impact on the environment in my garden to ensure

that I'm as green as possible. For example, the price of fertilizers risen out of all knowledge.

It's vastly expensive, so I'm trying Lucerne pony pellets. They contain about 12% protein, that's about

5% nitrogen, and can be added to the soil to improve it, and when they get wet in the soil,

they swell up enormously, so you're kind of adding a fertilizer and a manure all at once.

Oh, that sounds fantastic, Guy. I know alfalfa or Lucerne, because it's something I've grown from my bees in the past and they absolutely love it.

It's a really lovely kind of shrubby sort of clover type plant with really deep roots that can get loads of nutrients from the subsoil but also will fix nitrogen from the air.

Yes, it is. It's very deep rooted and it's drought resistant as well.
