When I got into the ministry, I just made some mistakes.

I thought it was sin for a minister to work.

I thought I was supposed to be devoted 100% of just studying the

word and ministering it to other people. So Jamie and I went through about six

years of, I mean really bad poverty and because of it I struggled in the ministry probably for

ten to fifteen years financially and I mean we just struggled struggled and God told me to give everything

away and so we weren't getting finances from our stuff.

We were giving things away.

We gave away hundreds of thousands of cassette tapes.

And so I was struggling financially. And anyway, a friend of mine, Dean Melton, which I've got his nephew here and his sister and brother-in-law.

They'll be coming up sometime and sharing with you about ambassadors to the nations.

But Dean Melton, I was going to his church in Charlotte and Dean was operating in a level of prosperity that I just

had never operated in before.

And I was inspired by him, so I asked Dean to come to our school and minister and he taught on prosperity for two days,

three hours a day for two days.

And I took a legal pad of paper.

This is back about 1996 1996 I think it was, and I was going to write down everything.

I was going to learn what he needed, what he knew that I didn't know.

And you know, I sat there for six hours hours listening to him over two days and I never wrote down a single thing.
