You just believe the word. Now you need to be skilled enough in the word and not take a word out of context and you need to be able to compare it so that you don't misuse it.

And I'm saying once you know it's the word of God, once you know that this is what God has said, you just

base your life on it. And I mean, there is no plan B or there is no plan C.

That's what we've been talking about all weekend is just

putting God's word first in your life. The kingdom of heaven functions off of the

word of God the way that this natural world functions off of seeds.

And John the Baptist, it doesn't tell us what his result to this was, but I believe he may have

pondered it a little bit about here I am in a desperate situation

asking for help and Jesus just says go tell him what you've seen and heard.

And he may have wondered about that, but I can guarantee you that the Holy Spirit that he was filled with in his mother's womb

brought him back to those promises that he quoted from in Isaiah chapter 35 and the connection was made that what

could Jesus do to fulfill the prophecies about the coming Messiah more than what he's done.

Is there anybody else that could have done this?

And he pointed him back to the word and he anchored his faith to the word.

And I personally believe that John the Baptist went out with a shout.

He went out and knowing that I did the right thing.

My life wasn't wasted.

I pointed people to the true Messiah and I believe that when

Herod beheaded him, man he was ready to go because he knew that he had run his course.
