It was but one of 21 other laws in various states that sought to censor counselors' speech when they were dealing with gender confusion.

It came out of Colorado, no surprise there, and the U.S. Supreme Court at long last has declared that law

and the others, by extension, unconstitutional. Welcome back to Issues, Et cetera. I'm Todd Wilkin,

joining us to talk about a Supreme Court decision striking down a Colorado law, censoring counselor's

speech when they are dealing with gender confusion. Jim Campbell, he's chief legal counsel

for Alliance defending Freedom. Jim argued before the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of a Christian

counselor, Katie Childs, in Charles v. Salazar. Jim, welcome. Thanks for having me.

What is going on in Colorado? The state has legally harassed now, by my count, a baker,

a web designer, and now a Christian counselor, Kaylee Childs.

Colorado has proven itself to be no respecter of the First Amendment, and it has shown us

that time and time again over the last decade. And exactly what you said is what we've seen.

Colorado is taking laws and using them to harass people of faith that are simply

trying to live out their convictions and their profession, whether that is someone who

designs cakes, whether it's someone who designs wedding websites, or whether it's

someone who is a counselor.

And we at Alliance Defending Freedom are committed to continue to defend these rights, and

if Colorado continues to violate them, then we will file more lawsuits against them.
